RESEARCH

Animal experiments showed that GAMA Injection had significant inhibitory effect on transplanted tumours in animals. The anti-cancer mechanism mainly includes:
1. Induce apoptosis;
2. Inhibit the biological synthesis of DNA and RNA protein in cancer cells;
3. Increase immune function of the body;
4. Change the nucleotide content in the tumour tissues or cells.

Safety evaluation:
Subacute toxicity: rats weighing around 100g were randomly divided into 3 groups with equal male and female numbers in each group. ECG and blood test were applied to rats before drug administration. Large dosage of GAMA Injection (40ml/kg original liquid), medium dosage GAMA Injection (5-fold diluted original liquid) and physiological saline were used intraperitoneally once every other day. The large dosage group was treated 10 times, 20 days totally; medium dosage group and physiological saline group were treated 15 times, 30 days totally. ECG and blood test were applied to animals after administration; half of the animals were killed for pathological examination, the other half were observed without administration. 1 week later, all animals were killed for pathological examination. Experiment results showed that the drug had no obvious influence over liver and kidney function, peripheral blood, behaviour, feces and urine; no abnormal ECG were found; no abnormal results were found in the pathological examinations of important organs including heart, liver, spleen, kidney and brain.


Clinical observation on GAMA injection adding raditherapy in treating early nasopharyngenal carcinomas

Objective: To explore the function of increasing the therapentic effect and releasing the toxic of GAMA injection adding radiothererapy in treating nasopharyngenal carcinomas.
Methods: 100 cases of nasopharyngenal carcinomas were divided randomly into the integrate group and the contrast group. 6MV-X ray produced by accelerator with conventional field and conventionally-fractionated method was adopt during radiotherapy. The integrate group was treated both by GAMA injection from beginning to end and by radiotherapy, and the contrast group was treated by radiotherapy only.
Results: The catabatic ratios of controlled tumour in the integration group and the contrast group were 96% and 75% repectively. The occurrence ratios of leucocy was decreased by 5% and 15% respectively. All difference has significant meaning (P<0.05). About lymphocyte subtype, there was no significant difference in the integrate group before after theraoy (P<0.05). While there was significant difference in the contrast group before and therapy(P<0.05). Compared with the integrate group and the contrast group, there also was significant difference(P<0.05).
Conclusion:GAMA injection can improve the curative effect and reduce the side effect of radiotherapy on nasopharyngenal carcinomas.

Treating 57 Cases of Malignant Tumor by GAMA Injection and Radiotherapy
Objective: To explore the function of increasing the therapeutic effect and releasing the toxic of GAMA injection combined with radiotherapy on treating malignant tumor.
Methods: 110 cases with malignant tumor were randomly divided into the integration group and the contrast group.6MW-X ray produced by accelerator with conventionally field and conventionally-fractionated(CF) was adopt during radiotherapy.Cases with cervix cancer were given by outer irradiation and end irradiation.The integration group was treated by GAMA injection for 40 days after radiotherapy and the contrast group was treated by radiotherapy only.
Results: The catabatic ratios of controlled tumor in the integration group and the contrast group were 66.7% and 43.4% respectively.The improvement ratios of karnofsky grade were 52.6% and 32.1% respectively.The occurrence ratios of leucocyte decrease were 22.8% and 42.5% respectively.All difference had significant meaning(P0.05).About T lymphocyte subtype,there was no significant difference in the integration group before and after therapy(P0.05),while there was significant difference in the contrast group before and after therapy(P0.05).Compared with the integrated group and the contrast group,there also had significant differentce(P0.05).
Conclusion: GAMA injection can improve the curative effect and lighten the side effect of radiotherapy on treating malignant tumor.

GAMA injection mixed with chemotherapy in intermediate and advanced-stage non-small cell lung cancer
Objective: To observe the effect of GAMA injection on patients with intermediate and advanced-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: Seventy eight patients with stage IIIB/IV NSCLC were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group (n=40) received GAMA injection and chemotherapy, and control group (n=38) only accepted chemotherapy.
Results: The short term effect, Karnofsky scores of life quality, and the incidence of pancytopenia in treatment group were superior to those in control group (72.5% vs 47.4%, P<0.05; 87.5% vs 55.3%, P<0.01; P<0.01).
Conclusion: GAMA injection can improve the short term effect, quality of life, and pancytopenia prevalence in patients with intermediate and advanced-stage NSCLC.

A clinical study of treating advanced stomach cancer with the combination of GAMA injection and chemotherapy
Objective: To explore the effect of treating advanced stomach cancer with the combination of GAMA injection and chemotherapy.
Methods: Eighty patients with advanced stomach cancer were randomly divided into treatment group (chemotherapy+GAMA injection) and control group (chemotherapy only).Observation was conducted on cellular immunization, short term effect, life quality improvement, and toxic side effect in both groups.
Results: In the treatment group, both NK cellular activity and CD4/CD8 ratio were higher after the treatment (P<0.01). CD3 and CD4 were both increased (P<0.05). In the control group, the NK cellular activity, CD3, CD4, CD4/CD8 ratio were all lower after the treatment(P<0.05). The short term efficacy rate was 45% in the treatment group and 40% in the control group. The difference was not significant.The treatment group was apprarently lower than the control group in leukopenia, nausea and/vormitting, and peripheral nerve toxicity(P<0.05). Compared with the control group, less fatigue, better appetite, and kamotsky increase were observed in the treatment group(P<0.01). The treatment group was also observed more effective in relieving pain and gain weight than the control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion: Treating advance stomach cancer with the combination of GAMA injection and chemotherapy may decrease the negative impact of chemotherapy on patients′ cellumlar immune functions and other side effects, therefore, improve the life quality of the patients.

Influence of GAMA injection on blood serum vascular endothelial growth factor of non-Hodgkin lymphoma patient Abstract
Objective:
To observe the influence of GAMA injection on blood serum vascular endothelial growth factor of non-Hodgkin lymphoma patient, And the effect of synergy, attenuation and improving the quality of life of GAMA injection was evaluated.
Methods: Eighty-five non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients were randomized into treatment group and control group. The patients of the treatment group were treated by injecting GAMA injection and CHOP combined chemotherapy, those of the control group were treated by CHOP combined chemotherapy only. The concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor in blood serum was detected before and after treatment. The curative effect in the near future, quality of life and adverse reaction was evaluated.
Results: The concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor in blood serum of the patients of the treatment group decreased after therapy (P<0.05), curative effect in the near future had a tendency of ascensus, the quality of life raised significantly (P<0.05), adverse reaction of the combined chemotherapy decreased obviously(P<0.05).
Conclusion: GAMA injection with CHOP combined chemotherapy has effect of synergy, attenuation and improving the quality of life. And it can decrease the concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor in blood serum of non-Hodgkin lymphoma patient.
