Study on the effect of Compound matrine on the level of sIL-2R and IL-8 in peripheral blood cells of patients with rectal cancer to radiation

The levels of sIL-2R and IL-8 in peripheral blood cells of patients with rectal cancer were measured after treatment with the compound matrine in combination with radiation. Eighty-four patients diagnosed with rectal carcinoma at The People’s Hospital of Yichun city in Jiangxi province from Septemper 2006 to Septemper 2011, were randomly divided into two groups: therapeutic group and control group. The patients in the therapeutic group were treated with compound matrine and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) (30 Gy/10 f/2 W), while the patients in control group were treated with IMRT. Compared two groups to the clinical effects and the levels of IL-8 and sIL-2R tested by ELISA in the pre-radiation and post-radiation. In addition, 42 healthy people were singled out from physical examination center in the People’s Hospital of Yichun city, which were considered as healthy controls. The clinical effect and survival quality in therapeutic group better (47.6%) than those in control group (21.4%) by chi-square test according to the criteria for assessing a solid tumors of WHO. All patients were divided into improvement, stability and progress in accordance with KPS. It have 16 improvement, 17 stability and 9 progress patients in therapeutic group; But, control group have 12 improvement, 14 stability and 16 progress patients. The Life quality in therapeutic group better than those in control group by rank sum test. (3) sIL-2R, IL-8 examination: Serum levels of sIL-2R and IL-8 were higher in rectal cancer patients before treatments than those in the healthy groups by student test. However, sIL-2R and IL-8 serum levels were found significantly lower in 84 rectal cancer patients after radiotherapy; The level of sIL-2R and IL-8 in therapeutic group was lower in the postradiation first day or 14th day compare to control group. However, no significant difference between post therapeutic on the first day and 14th day in both experimental groups by student test. Side effects of hepatotoxicity (11.9%) and radiation proctitos (9.52%) were fewer in therapeutic group while the hepatotoxicity (26.2%) and radiation proctitos (28.6%) were higher in control group by chi-square test. SIL-2R and IL-8 levels increase in serum of rectal carcinoma patients. Compound matrine can decrease the side effects of IMRT and significantly inhibit sIL-2R and IL-8 in peripheral blood on the radiation process, and can improve survival quality patients with rectal cancer.



Clinical Observation of Compound Matrine Injection Combined with SP Regimen in Advanced Gastric Cancer

To investigate the clinical effect of compound matrine injection combined with SP in the treatment of advanced gastric 76 cases of advanced gastric cancer were collected in our hospital from June 2010 to November 2011 and randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Patients in the two groups were treated with compound matrine injection combined with SP regimen and SP regimen respectively; clinical effect of the two groups was compared. Results The effective rate of experimental group and control group was 57.5% and 52.8% respectively. Therapeutic effect of the two groups of patients did not differ significantly. Except that there was no significant difference in terms of nausea and vomiting symptoms, occurrence rate of other indexes of the treatment group were lower than those of control group. Conclusion The treatment of advanced gastric cancer with compound matrine injection combined with SP program can significantly reduce the abnormal rate of white blood cells, the abnormal rate of hemoglobin, the abnormal rate of liver function, the incidence of diarrhea and constipation and the incidence of neurotoxicity, so as to improve the life quality of patients with advanced gastric cancer.



Effects of Compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection on proliferation, apoptosis and Caspase-3 expression in adenoid cystic carcinoma ACC-2 cells

To investigate the effects of compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection on proliferation, apoptosis and Caspase-3 expression in human adenoid cystic carcinoma ACC-2 cells, ACC-2 cells were cultured in vitro. MTT assay was used to measure the cell proliferative effect. The Annexin V/PI double staining analysis by flow cytometry was used to evaluate apoptotic rate and the cell cycle. The expression of Caspases-3 protein was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection could inhibit the proliferation of ACCo2 cells in vitro, and dose-effect relationship was significant (P<0.01). IC50 of ACC-2 was 0.84 g/ml. The flow cytometry test indicated, compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection could make ACC-2 cells G0-G1 phase gradually increasing, G2-M period and S phase reduce gradually, and with the increase of the dose, ACC-2 cell apoptosis rate increased significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection could enhance ACC-2 cells Caspases-3 protein expression (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and with the dose dependent. Compound Radix Sophorae Flavescentis injection could effectively restrain human adenoid cystic carcinoma ACC-2 cells Caspases-3 protein expression, induction ACC-2 cells apoptosis, inhibiting tumor cell proliferation.



Observation of Compound Recipe Lightyellow Sophora Root Injecta Combined with Chemotherapy in Treatment of 35 Postoperative Patients with Breast Cancer

To observe the effect, adverse reaction and quality of life of compound formula light yellow sophora root injection in the treatment of patients with breast cancer who received postoperative chemotherapy, a retrospective analysis of oncological data of 70 postoperative patients with breast cancer during January 2008 and August 2011 was performed. According to the treatment method, the patients were divided into therapy group (n=35) and control group (n=35). Patients in control group were treated with TAC scheme only, while in therapy group with TAC scheme combined with compound formula light yellow sophora root injection. Improved quality of life and incidence of adverse events before and after treatment for 2 cycles (21 days for a cycle) were compared. The objective remission rate of therapy group compared with that of control group was not statistically significant (P0.05), while the difference of the disease control rate in two groups was statistically significant (P0.05). The improvement rate of total quality of life of therapy group after treatments was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The drop of white blood cells and platelets, gastrointestinal reaction, sgpt increasing and the incidence of hair loss in therapy group were lower than those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Compound recipe light yellow sophora root injection combined with chemotherapy in treatment of breast cancer can enhance the effect of chemotherapy, reduce toxic and side-effect, improve the quality of life.



Observing therapeutic efficiency of fufangkushen injection, IL-2, α-IFN on lung cancer accompanied with malignancy pleural effusions

To observe therapeutic efficacy and adverse reactions of fufangkushen injection one hundred and fifty patients with lung cancer, accompanied with pleural effusions, were randomly divided into treatment and control groups. The treatment group was divided into three groups: injected fufangkushen plus IL-2, fufangkushen plus α-tFN, and IL-2 plus α-IFN respectively. The control group was divided into three groups and injected fufangkushen, IL-2 and α-IFN respectively. Therapeutic efficiency and adverse reactions were observed after four weeks. The effective rate of fufangkushen, IL-2 and α-IFN two by two was significantly superior to single pharmacotherapy. The effective rate of fufangkushen plus ct-IFN was highest. In adverse reactions, the incidence of fever, chest pains, and the reaction of gastrointestinal tract in treatment group were significantly less than matched group. Conclusion The effect of fufangkushen, IL-2 and α-IFN two by two on lung cancer with pleural effusions was definite, moreover, the effect of fufangknshen plus IL-2 or α-IFN was the best.
